Who is responsible for enforcing Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is responsible for enforcing violations by private employers. The Employment Litigation Section, Civil Rights Division, U.S. Department of Justice enforces the legislation when the violations are by state and local government employers.
